			There is some good information on general fire safety around the home and property available in leaflets from the Rural Fire Service and also on the web. Check out the links below for some useful information. Rather than repeat all that here, we would like to draw attention to some issues particular to our area, in relation to the climate and growing regime of the southern tablelands and also in relation to current rural developments in the Sutton Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade Area.

A basic listing of fire safety principles is provided by Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade. Heathcote Headquarters Brigade also lists fire safety principles. Blue Mountains Conservation Society: Living near the Bush is a practical guide to fire safety in a high risk area.
